GPS tracker for cat

Hi

I know this has been done here before according to google but not for a good while anyway.

From the historic threads I've read, it doesn't look like there's any real gps tracker product that anyone's very impressed with.

Can you let me know if you've got one that is working for you?

I'm just so nervous about letting our 9 mth old rescue kitten out properly. On the few occasions we've let her out in the garden, within 10 mins, she's found her way on top of the 6 foot walls and is set to bugger off to explore. I have grabbed her and stopped her fun but I know I can't do this forever. I had every intention of her being out and about before Xmas but wasnt able to face it. 😭😭

I know she'll go anywhere she wants anyway with a gps tracker, I would just feel more comfortable if I knew where she was if she didn't come back.

Thanks

I almost posted the exact same thing the other day. After madam Cheddar escaped out the front door and it took 40 minutes to round the little bugger up. There are a few trackers that look quite good but they need a monthly subscription. And regular battery changes. I'm seriously considering the tab cat blur tooth tracker.

My girl is an indoor cat so really need to know where she is.

I've got a pod tracker, I got it because my newest cat loved jumping in cars.. He doesn't wear it any more, it just didn't work for us, its very big and doesn't look comfortable to wear, it was a faff having to change the battery unit every day - they may say that they last 3/4 days but they don't. It was also quite scary sending him out with this expensive bit of kit, he pulled his collar off a few times and luckily we found it, but it was just pure luck as their range isn't small enough to pin point the exact location to find it.
Saying that, it was cool to know where he goes, and we put it on our other cat recently as he had been spending frequent nights away and we were able to find out which house he visits and go and chat to them, they actually got a microchip cat flap fitted so totally solved that problem.
Also, they are frequently out of signal, if the cat goes into wooded area or an area with no signal you may not get tracking on them for hours, and the battery will run down quicker as its constantly searching for signal.
Hope that helps, sorry if it sounds negative, happy to answer any questions!

Mine are house cats. So I only need it in case Cheddar escapes out the front door. As she did the other day as she suddenly became invisible in the dark!
