Handhold please, girl not come home

Normally, Dcat comes in for breakfast in the morning if she has been out. Today she hasn't and it is very unlike her. So I went out to look and I can't find her. I can't hear her bell anywhere and I am so scared something bad has happened to her.

I know cats are cats and do what they like but I want her home and I feel helpless and don't know where to look.

Hand hold from me. Hope she reappears soon.

chickydoo · 14/01/2019 12:10

It's very stressful. I know just how you feel, I'm sure your cat will be fine

Have you been to your neighbours/nearby houses in case is in someone's she'd or garage? Maybe someone has seen her? Fingers crossed for you! If you can do go out and call her etc.

ISaySteadyOn · 14/01/2019 17:21

Yes, even climbed a tree to check.

Do you have any roads nearby? When mine buggered off I checked the road just in case - feels awful but I needed to do it. Mine came back after 2 days and I literally didn't sleep. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

ISaySteadyOn · 14/01/2019 17:42

I checked under cars. She doesn’t go where the road is, she goes out back. We miss her and she's barely been gone. Thanks for suggestions and handholds.

Any idea where yours went for those 2 days?

No idea - think he was just pratting around. I'd left him and his brother to go for a funeral but they broke out the catflap and went on the run. Hadnt a clue. One came back shortly but the other was gone another 13 hours. I was out in the woods and fields, posting on Facebook, printing leaflets - everything. Neighbours were all out looking and he just swanned in yelling his head off. Think he got a fright and was hunkered down somewhere . Maybe try putting some used cat litter if you have any in your back garden? They have a really good sense of smell. Also try any local lost pet facebooks if you can.

ISaySteadyOn · 14/01/2019 18:07

OK. Thanks.

We have had cats go missing before, for several weeks. They have done okay and turned up. Usual suggestion is to put some nice, highly scented food out and some water. Just put it on the back porch. The odds are pretty good that she is close by and will come home soon. She pretty girl. She reminds me of our Jayda.

ISaySteadyOn · 15/01/2019 05:06

She's home. She just meowed to come in. She is eating. I am indulgent cat servant and she has had extra rations.

Oh great news. Now get some sleep Grin

minkies11 · 15/01/2019 06:19

What a relief! Know the feeling - really happy for you.

ISaySteadyOn · 15/01/2019 06:21

But she is a cat and has gone out again. Now I am stupidly afraid she doesn't like us any more and won't come back again. I won't be able to relax until I see a furry purring circle on a bed. Anyone else feel this after their cat came back and then went out again?

Enigmam · 15/01/2019 06:26

My cat decided to do a disappearing act on me a couple of years ago, it lasted for about a week. She kept disappearing every other day, coming back smelling of grease. I have no idea what she was up to but tried to keep her in to break the habit. Thankfully it worked and she hasn't gone AWOL since.

ISaySteadyOn · 15/01/2019 06:33

What did you do?

Is puss confined to barracks?

Toddlerteaplease · 15/01/2019 10:56

Great news!

Jens303 · 15/01/2019 11:04

so glad she is home

ISaySteadyOn · 15/01/2019 16:20

Spartacus, sort of. Since she won't go out the cat flap without a servant to open it. Yes, she trained us to open the cat flap for her.

She's asleep upstairs in her normal furry ball. I really hope she knows, as much as a cat can, how much we love her.

Thanks for the handholds and good wishes, you cat loving vipers Smile

Glad she is back after her adventure. I do wonder sometimes (when mine are out longer than their 'routine' ) how short their attention spans are. Like they get completely engrossed in something and forget to come home. That, or mine are idiots!
