Cat with Hemorrhoids / Piles!

Is that a possible diagnosis?!

I have looked at 'interweb' and got conflicting info so thought I would ask you lovely people.

For the last couple of days, my enormous 6 year old, neutered cat has been doing multiple poos in his tray - smaller than usual and some teeny. No diarrhoea. No yowling or particular straining. However, I think there is slight swelling under his tail, top of his anus. If he wasn't a housecat, I doubt anyone would notice something was amiss.

He's booked in at vets this Monday but it's a small practice; any issue involving scanning would need to be referred so I'm asking the forum for advice and whether I should take him to the better equipped practice. It's a bit of a trek, he HATES travelling by car, loathes vets full stop and can be aggressive when examined. We always tell the vet they will need assistance but some seem to think it's a challenge to their professional ability and they end up ripped to shreds and more importantly, our cat ends up stressed.

Any advice / similar experience re possible piles?

Bump for Help? Cat does seem to be better now - one normal poo and one teeny poo today - but would still like some informed opinions. Ta x

Sounds like constipation which is really common in cats, much more so than piles. I would just use wet food till you see the vet to ensure your cat is properly hydrated.

Thanks. Have only been feeding him special gastrointestinal 'sensitive' wet food for a few days now and he does seem better; only two poos yesterday, one normal quantity.

Sounds like he has blocked anal glads which can cause constipation.

Many thanks @Plump82 and @lonecatwithkitten. Advice really appreciated! X

My cat's massively improved and back to normal. If he was an easy cat, I would take to the vet at drop of a hat but can't emphasise enough how even normal annual check up is traumatic - for all involved!
