Missing cat - give me your wisdom

He's been missing since Saturday. I've logged it with the microchip database, rang all the local vets, the A&E vet, the rescues, registered on Pets Located. I've asked the neighbours and been for a walk around the area. We've left stinky litter litter outside, his favourite food and his favourite blanket incase he's lost and catches a wiff.

We're going to do a leaflet drop in the next day or so, is there anything I'm missing? It just seems hopeless, normally he'd be at the window yelling to come in, he's loud so you can hear him from a distance! But there's nothing, not a peep.

He's part of a bonded pair, who is a house cat and even she's been out looking for him.

Local facebook lost and found pages. Alert local cat rescues.
You could call the local vets - although I would think they would have checked for a microchip.
Ask the local council
Look around local parks.
Leaflet up to about a mile away.
Hope you find him.

Repost of missing cat advice collated from previous posts:

Put their litter tray/bed/blanket/contents of your hoover outside so that they can follow their scent home.

Put stinky wet food around the boundary of your property.

Post on Facebook local pages, Petlog, community websites, gumtree etc with a photo, date last seen and location, and your contact details. Contacting social organisations for the elderly including church groups are often very helpful and kind.

Print posters with a photo, date last seen and location, and your contact details.

Put posters/flyers with above information through neighbours doors asking them to check sheds, garages and out buildings.

Contact all local vets, RSPCA and PDSA asking them to keep an eye out.

Go out at night when it is very quiet and still to call for them and listen. (this was what eventually brought my cat home).

Knock on doors with your flyers and put a human face to your missing cat. Neighbours are often more likely to check their sheds of help you look when you’ve spoken to them.

It's awful OP, I sympathise so much. ThanksThanks

There are some big facebook groups where lost and found pets can be posted. "Red Alert" is a very big group. Also search facebook for lost pets and several other groups will come up.
Searching at night when it is quiet is a good idea.
I hope he is home soon.

Keep checking with the microchip company and local vets.

My cat went missing in June and was scanned by a vets on 23rd August. Vets told the cat's finders that she was a stray, didn't get in touch with me, and won't give me any details due to GDPR. It is hugely upsetting and I'll have to involve the police if I ever want to see her again.

I'd hate that to happen to anyone else, so please keep checking lost and found pages, maybe knock some doors in your local streets, and don't rely on the microchip. I hope you get her back, I know how you must feel.

Thanks all, there's a few things I haven't tried that have been mentioned so I'll crack on with them tonight.

It horrible, we're missing him so much. I'm am starting to think that he's been being fed elsewhere, his morning habits have changed recently. Which if that's the case, I don't like the chances of seeing him again - it's infuriating. When they are clearly not feral why would you just keep them!

If he's part of a bonded pair and he's being fed elsewhere he'll probably come back. Some cats keep several homes on the go.
Don't stop looking though.
