Fleas - freaking slightly

Dcat caught fleas and now I’m freaking out slightly.
I’m in the process of Indorexing (Vet recommendation and have used on the two previous occasions) everywhere, everything going through the washing machine, onlybthis time we have found about 9 fleas on her and on the other two occasions there was only 1 or 2.
She hates being combed so can only do it when she’s calm enough (15 year old rescue who’s not a cat for fuss). The thing that has just freaked me though is that she is currently settling on my daughters fabric guitar case and when she got up is was absolutely covered in eggs.
I feel I’ve let the cat down, got a disgusting contaminated home and the worst cat owner ever.
I used to put flea stuff on her neck from the vets but even that used to freak her out (she’d hear the pack snap open and run off hissing, or even going up to her with it open and hid got the same reaction.
I found a phial of frontline that was probably out of date when we found them (late in the evening so no Vets open) and pug that on and have since got an Advocat one to put on when that one is up.
Flea collar is in the hoover - any think else I can do?
Please don’t judge me harshly, we give her the love and attention she lets us, but doesn’t like a lot of fuss so difficult to sort without stressing her further.

Oh, and replaces the doormats as that’s where she usually sits

Ask the vet how soon after the (useless...) Frontline you can apply the Advocate.

You can also get Capstar tablets, they can safely be given in combination with other flea treatments and will kill any live fleas on the cat for about 48 hours - so should drastically help with the current flea infestation even though it won't provide ongoing protection.

Keep hoovering the house, that combined with the Indorex should break the flea life cycle quite soon.

Thank you! Just have the kitchen to go and sorted other than the constant hoovering - I’m knackered!
I think the Frontline has had some effect - the flea poo seems to be dackkering off, and I purposely did all the decontamination bare foot and have had no bites, so hopefully caught it early.
And daughter given strict instructions - tidier bedroom and no more floordrobe!
