Cat first aid?

I have an outdoor cat, she literally howls the place down to get outside if she's indoors at all. In the summer it's not too bad as doors are open and she is happy to come in for a bit and then stroll back out.

Recently an intact tom has been in the area (my cat is spayed) and has been very aggressive with her, have chased him off a few times.

She's clearly been in a scrap, has a wound on her head, managed to get her in and have a look, it's a scratch rather than bite and looks clean, no bleeding now just a patch of raised skin missing fur, poor thing.

Trying to keep her in at the moment even though she's not keen, and was thinking of getting something like this www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/leucillin-antiseptic-multi-pet-skin-care-50ml-dropper to put on wound - any other recommendations, would like to try and avoid vets if at all possible as the last time was horrendous trying to get her in the carrier!

My cat has also been known to come home with the occasional scratch/ cut on his head - usually after there has been a suspicious amount of yowling/ screeching outside 😼 My vet recommended bathing the wound with salty water 2-3 times a day (often easier said than done). He’s needed antibiotics a couple of times and they were for cuts/bites on his ear. Keep a close eye on it and if it gets red, starts to smell, isn’t healing or you see a discharge then go to the vets.

Thanks Ski, will keep an eye on her! She's currently bugging DS while he tries to play on XBox, doesn't seem to be bothered, apart from being pissed off at being inside :)

I forgot to add that also if she is unwell in herself she should see the vet as cats can sometimes hide abscesses very well- but it sounds like at the moment things as normal as can be ( hope she hasn’t bothered your DS and his game too much) !
