Why is she peeing on my stuff?

Had female kitten for four months now, since 9 weeks old, she was perfectly litter trained. Over the past month though she has pee'd on my bed 3 times (only my side), on my coat and tonight in my bloody handbag!

She has been to the vets, no UTI. She is neutered, has access to water all day, is on a grain free, high meat content diet.

I don't know what to do but its driving me nuts and making me very resentful towards her! it's not even every day, just sporadically once a week or 3 times in 2 days with the bed situation.

I had this with my kitten at about a similar age, although he is still intact. It drove me to tears honestly thinking something was wrong with him. It took 2 days of sitting with him in front of the litter tray every few hours/after he'd eaten or drank anything, and placing him in until he went. He's not had an accident anywhere else since. If she has free roam of the house you can also try placing an additional tray somewhere like the bedroom if that's where it's happening most frequently. I found if we were in another room he would meow a lot when he needed to go because he needed the tray closer.

We have been trying to keep bedroom doors closed in an attempt to thwart her, bur today my handbag was about two feet from the tray, she climbed in and peed, would have been easier to just use her tray!

Which litter has she got?

Sainsburys ultra clumping, i did briefly try felight which she hated so i switched back, she uses it fine most of the time, then randomly pees on my stuff.

I would have suggested that one tbh. Things you can try are a deeper layer, mine prefers ankle deep, two trays in case she likes to keep her weeks and poos separate and washing with neutral smelling detergents. If I wash ours out with something strong he’s reluctant to use it.

Try an open top litter tray in a different room as the kitten may have an issue with either where the tray is located or that it's one with a closed top.

Is she going outside using a cat flap? If another cat is getting in she may be nervous using the tray near to that access.

Thanks, will try a deeper layer of litter.

She goes out but we don't have a cat flap, we open the back door for her.
