Stinky Cat Breath

So vet has checked her teeth, they’re fine.
Thought at 18 I wouldn’t put her through an extraction unless she was in pain.

She’s drinking & eating fine. Wet & dry.
Peeing & pooing.

But my God it’s like the breath of Satan…

Mine is 17 and pretty pongy too!

They can have dental disease going on under the gumline with can't be seen with a routine inspection. She may have infection which is causing the smell. I would ask for an xray tbh.

Do cats need their anal glands cleaning? I know in dogs that smelly breath means they need a squeeze down there!

Please do get he X-rayed. Harry had the most appalling breath and the vet couldn't find anything wrong. It turned out he had a dental infection that led to osteomyelitis and his jaw was crumbling. He ended having a broken jaw and losing 12 teeth. He's fine now, but still has the odd problem with his jaw.

Yeah cat had that too. Had all his teeth out bar one, solved it. I agree with X-ray. Our cat got back to eating normally within a week, even crunching his biscuits. Can't remember what test he had to have first, blood or heart check I think. The vet said these had to be clear before he'd do the op though.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll pop back to vet.
