I rescued a cat someone " threw out " .
I feel really good about making it cozy and comfortable, giving it a safe haven...but i don't feel any attachment to this cat,who i named Q . Hes a sweet boy, very affectionate, one to two years old, uses the litter box no problem...i live in an apartment complex with a very strict pet policy and I've yet to tell them about Q. My daughter told me to " play dumb " and just let them find out. But what about the repercussions?? Could this be part of the reason i can't bond with the cat?? Ive had him for a couple days now...

It's only been a couple days, so maybe you need more time?

However, if your tenancy says 'no pets' then I would probably look to rehome Q. If he is a sweet and very affectionate one or two year old cat then I shouldn't think he would take too long to be adopted by someone who would adore him.

Cats are expensive, long term pets. They need a lot of care and attention, and can disrupt your life (hat weekend away become more difficult to arrange). He could be with you for another 15 years. If you aren’t sure you want him, then maybe think about seeing if you can find another home for him.
