Wobbly cat

Please reassure me she will be fine. The vet will have blood test results tomorrow but I'm so worried something is seriously wrong.

Anyone had a cat who is walking around like she's seasick, not eating or going to the loo? Could it just be an ear infection? It's very sudden, no other symptoms and overnight she's like an old lady.

Could be ears, could be old age and getting a bit weak and wobbly, or it could be neurological - I don't think anyone will be able to help until you see the vet.
DMOG was the same, but at around twenty it wasn't surprising that he was rather frail.
I hope it's something fixable for your dcat. Thanks

You're right, I guess I wanted to hear miraculous stories of recovery.

I think she's had a mini stroke and it might not be long. She's a rescue cat and we don't know how old she is but we've had her and loved her for 7 years and I hope it's not the end.

I've had cats all my life so trusting my instincts here and preparing for the worst. How I tell my 3 y o I don't know but if it comes down to it we will have to find the words.

Such is life when you have pets.

Sorry, no miracle story for you. I've had this with three cats in my lifetime and all were liver problems but there were previous symptoms.

Have everything crossed for you xxx

I had this with my cat and he had a serious bladder infection. Hope yours turns out ok though. Sending love

MrSoft · 29/11/2018 14:10

Any news OP? Thanks

OhHolyJesus · 29/11/2018 15:36

God what a saga. Was very disappointed and annoyed with first vet (big corporate chain, waste of time and money as no news, no proper assessment and would rather have waited for the blood result than have all the stress of another appointment) so went to a second vets for a second opinion. Much nicer, straightforward and we now have an appointment with the neurologist tomorrow first thing.

Will no doubt nearly bankrupt us )and just before Christmas) but what can you do? I just hope the insurance Will cover it.

Some progress is she is eating so that's something!

Ah well that's something then. Really hope there's more improvement overnight and you get on well tomorrow

Autumnchill · 30/11/2018 02:09

I hope puss cat is ok Bear

Thanks everyone, I love Mumsnet for this, great info and reassurance!

Puss is much better, great improvement overnight. She's not 100% but as she's getting better without any actual treatment we're going to see how it goes over the weekend.

Thanks all, your words and best wishes have really helped!
