Help! Best way to get rid of fluffy cat hair!

I have recently become a proud mummy to two very fluffy cats. I am really struggling to get rid of their hair which sticks to all our bedding, clothes, carpets, sofas. My hoover does not seem to get rid of it as this is fine cat hair that is stuck down.

I have been using sticky rollers but it is so time consuming and not cost effective as it takes a while roller to remove the cat hair from the bed.

There must be an easier way! Please give me your words of wisdom 😺

I have two long haired cats.
I'm afraid I have come to the conclusion that the only foolproof way of getting rid of fluffy cat hair would be to get rid of the fluffy cats Grin.

Being serious I have a Dyson pet recommended Hoover and it does seem to work.

A stiff broom is good on carpets, or if you don't mind getting down on your knees, a hairbrush. It will collect up the fluff and you can pull it off.

I usually wear a pair of latex gloves, and rub my hands over the area (sofa cushions usually) in circular motions and that seems to collect the bulk.

But essentially you just have to get used to living in a fur lined house

My long haired Persians hair is far easier to manage than my short haired exotic

Groom regularly with metal comb. Furminator doesn't deal with the under coat.

Dyson animal can't cope with long haired cats so get the total clean model instead.

Sticky mits from Lakeland are brilliant

Or they do a set of stick rollers with rubber bits on. The rubber bits are brilliant for lifting fur. So is the reverse side of a zoom groom.

I’m a cleaner. I work in lots of houses with animals in.

You go to the shops and you buy one of these.

Trust me on this. You rub that a few times over your stairs or sofas and you will be amazed at what it brings up. My clients when I first do this always text me and ask how I get the stairs or the sofa so hair free. And it is one of these. Doesn’t have to be expensive either. A cheap one will work just as well.

We lost our fluffy girl a few years ago. I miss the kitty fur tumbleweed. Sad

www.lakeland.co.uk/23270/Rubber-Buddy-Handheld-Pet-Hair-Cleaning-Brush works for me.

HoleyCoMoley · 22/11/2018 15:59

I use a rubber pet glove, only cost about a pound and it gets all the hairs off.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/11/2018 00:01

@scaryteacher I've got one of those. It doesn't work well for me. Going to try the window thing

scaryteacher · 23/11/2018 00:49

It works well for my long haired cat fluff, and I have the long handled brush that collects all the cat hair from the floor as well.
