Has our cat got a girlfriend or should I be worried?! (Fluffy blanket related)

He's neutered, now 8 yrs old and never done anything like this before. A few weeks ago I bought the thickest snuggliest bedspread, velvet on one side fleecy on the other. Stupidly I forgot that the house owners with 4 paws would take ownership, so now every night there's a purring pad fest.

Tonight mr no balls has padded and purred and then strangely appeared as if he was about to have a poo, straddling the furry bits he then half sat down with his tail quivering.

Has my cat just shagged our blanket or is this something unusual we need to worry about?

There have been a lot of threads on here about cats shagging fleecy blankets. I also have a shagger. The worst is when he stares at you while he does it ...

My vet refused to neuter my boy until he was 6 months old because it was 'unethical'. By 3 months old, my cat was shagging his blankie and for want of better description, having a 'happy ending'. He would collapse on his side after and would have smoked a fag - if cigarettes had been on hand and he had opposable thumbs to light one - I would never encourage smoking by helping him to light one.

Luckily, he hadn't started spraying or being aggressive - just the close, meaningful relationship with his blankie which was sustained despite numerous washes.

Eventually managed to persuade vet to castrate him - I don't know why but I felt a bit proud when vet commented on his (the cat's) large testicles.

I knew he loved this blanket by the way he sleeps on it and for how long but last night was a bit much. Basically then there's nothing wrong with him and we witnessed cat porn. I hope this is not going to be a regular occurrence or my lovely blanket will have to go elsewhere.

I think you just need to give over the blanket.

I agree - it's most unnerving when they stare at you while they are doing it.

For some reason I always thought it was both rude and prudish to interrupt, but at the same time I don't give consent to be part of it!

for want of better description, having a 'happy ending'

That's made me laugh.

I'm imagining this cat sneaking off with a human slave's phone to watch pussy porn before the act.

F me sideways @YetAnotherSpartacus!!!

I'm off to beg forgiveness of DH. I now understand how he couldn't explain why and how those images popped up on his phone.

Bta cats, eh?

On other hand, why bigbustedladies dot com??

Harry shags my dressing gown. He looks around while he's doing it and looks like a dirty old man. We call it his Albert Steptoe look...

MrsCatE · 28/10/2018 22:23

PinkSparkly that is.... disconcerting. Cat would bite blankie, gather blankie folds between back legs and... get off. The collapse after the happy ending resonated with ex-husband's performance.

Melfish · 28/10/2018 22:31

If there is a fleece blanket in the area, or you happen to be wearing anything fleecy or fluffy, our neutered cat will commandeer and knead and drool it to death. Thankfully he’s not started humping it yet.

Vinorosso74 · 28/10/2018 22:58

I'm now worried in case our lad starts humping things! He's about a year and a half old we think and had him since January but thankfully no signs of shagging fleecy objects. He is fond of towels but luckily not in that way.
I did have a (neutered) boy cat who would poke his lipstick out when he was enjoying being fussed.

QueenOfIce · 29/10/2018 06:42

I think it was too much effort for him as he's not done it again since thank god!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 29/10/2018 06:51

To be fair Harry doesn't really hump it, it's more making biscuits but with dodgy look on his face and a shaking tail!

SushiMonster · 30/10/2018 13:36

Oh my neutered boy loves a good kneed and drool in the funny stance as well. He doesn’t do tail quivering but the intention is pretty clear.

Usually he faces the back of the sofa and had a private 5 min fleecy blanket session, I don’t like it when he looks at me.

mimibunz · 30/10/2018 17:34

Cats are so lovely!! I’ve had them all my life and they have always used the scratchers not the furniture. If you shout at them they won’t like you. If you are kind and talk to them they will love you. My husband was terrified of cats when we adopted a three year old male 7 years ago. In the past 2 years he has turned a corner and now adores the cat. I would say that they require more attention than people think if they are affectionate! Also don’t be surprised if they enjoy being ‘walked’ as I have had several that loved to take a turn around the block.
