What time do you let your cat out?

Usually we are up around 8 and it's light. My tabby girl is 19 months old and gets her breakfast then likes to go outside for a while. She has a cat flap and stays mostly in the garden or nearby.
This morning I was up at 6 to take dd to work but it was still dark and cat wanted out. She has a litter tray so I didn't let her.
Would you?
I m worried that she will not be seen these dark mornings if she went near a road but I don't think she ever has (yet). Obviously she could one day.

Our cats have a cat flap and go in and out as they please. They're fairly nocturnal so spend most of the day sleeping indoors and most of the night out and about. I'd let yours come and go as she pleases.

I don't let her out at night but she comes in when called in the evening anyway. There have been a few road fatalities round here lately.

Yes I would have let her out at 6am. We used to have the flap locked at night but now we just give them free access.

Hmm depends on your road. The stats are that most road deaths happen at night. I let my cat out once our local rush hour is over by 8am but not before. However he often escapes anyway Grin as they’re a law unto themselves! We couldn’t work it out till we found the roofing over the back porch could be raised slightly by him and off he went!
