The neighbour we got our kitten from has let her get pregnant again.

We got Aggie in August. Our cat died in March and the kids were desperate for another kitten. They gave her to us when she was 6 weeks as mum was biting them angrily when they went near her. I enquired about getting Aggie done but she isnt big enough yet. So I asked if my neighbour could use the space. When they took her in they found she was pregnant. She's only a young small cat and I feel so sorry for her. She's about 2 and has had 5 litters. They said they didn't think she could get pregnant again? ! They didn't let the vet abort the babies and they're looking for prospective parents again. I feel like asking if I can have mum cat instead.

As well - take the mum cat as well.

You will have to take the initiative here. Tell them you will arrange to get her done once the kittens are four weeks, pay for it yourself and take her yourself. It's the only way [much bitter experience].

I can't afford to pay but we have a scheme in our local area where you can get your cat chipped, neutered and deflead/wormed. They just ask for what you can afford to pay. I gave £50. Even though my kitty was too light I would've happily let them take it. They clearly love her but come from a country where cats aren't as well treated and they are overrun with strays. I explained it's not very kind to let her get pregnant so many times. We went to see the kittens when they were brand new and they were letting the kids pick them up. Haloween Sad

@BaronRottsSoundOfGraves if you cannot afford it, then why are you getting a cat? You need to be prepared to stump up for whatever costs may come your way! Get pet insurance as well.

BaronRottsSoundOfGraves · 19/10/2018 08:40

Bubbles I mean I cannot afford to pay for other people's pets. I would love to but can't. Also have pet insurance for every pet I've ever had.

I don't suppose you're in London OP?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/10/2018 11:22

That's a bit harsh bubbles092. I can afford to pay for my own cat as I budget for him but that doesn't mean I can afford to pay for the neighbours' pets!

I'm in Trafford Cat. We have really good services for cats (pets in general). I'm really struggling at the moment. Mentally, physically and financially. But my kitty comes first. I've always treated my cats well. My neighbours are nice enough but like I said they've no idea about animal welfare. I do what I can but shouldn't be expected to stump up to rectify others ignorance. I mean helping, giving food and litter, and taking mum to the vet to use my kittens slot for neutering isn't good enough? (Not to mention finding homes for the little ones) Fuck that. No one else has been arsed except me. Hmm
I'm checking on her daily and they probably think I'm a mug. Clearly so does Bubbles.

Actually Bubbles I'm sorry. I'm in agony day in day out and small things are blown out of proportion to me. I apologise for my rant. Blush

Speak to Cats Protection. They offer free neutering for cats.

Bluelonerose · 19/10/2018 17:57

This makes me so angry. The mom's obviously had enough of being pregnant.
I would report to cats protection I know they collect cats and take them for neutering

TheBestestCatinTheLand · 19/10/2018 18:40

Bubbles has got to be joking. How many neighbours cats have you paid for?
