Let her out into my 'enclosed' garden. Realised I'd not seen her for a while. Turns out she decided to explore the next street. Managed to scruff her when I say on a kerb and she came for a fuss. Naughty girl. I knew that Snorg went into next doors garden through a hole in the fence but she's never escaped from there. From what I can see I thought their garden was enclosed as well. Obviously not!!

Shock Sneaky gremlin she is!

Turns out Luco has been having dinner next door Hmm

And then she decided to Puke for the second time today. (Diet related)

Is that a Persian?! Ours escapes from time to time too. GASP!

Toddlerteaplease · 03/10/2018 22:23

Yes. My other one once got out and completely froze and hid next to the neighbours bins. Fortunately cheddar is very vocal and cried when I called her. I think she was lost from the tone of her cry. I've got a collar tag for her that says she's an indoor cat and if she's out she's lost. But I took it off.
They are so vulnerable it's scary when they get out.

What a picture! For all the world looking like a cat nonchalantly wandering down the street for an evening stroll! But you think she felt lost? Poor thing. Plus Cheddar is gorgeous and could have been kitnapped! Thank goodness, all's well that ends well.

SpoonBlender · 03/10/2018 23:13

What's wrong with a non-indoor cat being outside?

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2018 06:25

She is an indoor cat! That was the problem! She usually stays in the garden. I've no idea how she got where she did.

It does worry me that she would get cat napped. She's such a lovely friendly cat. She also woke me at midnight puking on the bed and I came down to a sofa covered in sick.

She's not an indoor cat if she goes out... Hmm How is your garden 'enclosed'? It might be worth looking into fence-top cat proofing if you want to prevent escapes.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/10/2018 10:03

Ok viccat she’s a cat that doesn’t usually leave her own home or territory so if she’s outside the garden she’s lost 🤦🏻‍♀️

gamerchick · 04/10/2018 10:08

Aw she wants to go out man, she's a cat. It's not her fault someone put a price on her.

Can you not totally cat proof your garden so she can go out? There are constructions that can be built to keep them in.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2018 10:17

It's surrounded by 8 foot fences. She's a persian who doesn't climb. She's been going out for a while. But never done this. It explains why Snorg was unusually vocal as she was trying to tell me she'd gone.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2018 10:17

I thought it was completely cat proof!

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2018 10:19

@gamerchick she's more than happy to stay indoors. Both of them are. They never ask to go out. And if they are out they don't stay out long. My other persian is just not bright enough to let out.

Our smallest Persian was a climber. She could get onto the top bunkbed no problem.

I would have her under house arrest too.

OVienna · 04/10/2018 12:58

Toddler, our cat got out when the dog walker was visiting when we were away for the day. We walked in and there he was, waiting at the door. It was actually a relief to know that he COULD find his way home. He had apparently been on the street prior to being rescued (kicked out by his owner's boyfriend!) They are tougher than they look although I am terrified of foxes.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2018 13:10

From the way she was crying I do think she was genuinely lost. I don't want her out wandering the streets anyway as the road is quite busy.
