Sorry to post on here as only seem to post when I have a problem with my cat but always get good advice from those more in the know than me! My nearly 3 year old cat has been vomiting. Just once a week for the last 3 weeks. Def proper vomit not hairball and no other symptoms. Once he ate grass before hand. Otherwise eating normally & behaving as he always has. When he did it for the third time today I was concerned and am wondering if he needs the vets or just monitoring. He’s still eating well including on the days he is sick. Not usually sick before now except when a kitten. What would you advise?

Does he go outdoors? Mine has a habit of vomiting up bits of frogs/ mice/ random plants he’s eaten ( but it’s usually obvious!) . If not I’d take him for a check up just to make sure and to put your mind at rest.

He does go outdoors so could be something he has eaten but this is a new thing for him.

If it’s new I’d take him to the vet just to be sure ....

Think I will take him just to be sure it’s nothing serious and is just something he’s eaten. Has anyone else had a similar thing with their cat?

My mums older cat has vomited at least once a month for years, she's been to the vets and they've always said she's perfectly healthy so we think it's that she wolfs her food down too quickly!

She also used to vomit a lot after eating those long stick treats and I think that was the same because she loved them and couldn't grab the bits off you quick enough then within half an hour had puked it up. So we had to stop giving her those.

Could be that if your cat is as much of a greedy guys as she is!

Greedy guts that should say!

It doesn’t seem to be just after he’s eaten a lot either- a couple of times it was before feeding time so don’t think it’s that. Although I did wonder as he’s a bit of a fat cat!!
