Siamese cat's first season; feel so guilty!

So we have a six month old Siamese girl. At the breeders recommendation I'd booked her in to be spayed next week....too late! She's been calling for three days now so the op has been postponed for ten days, to be absolutely sure that she's no longer on heat. I feel terrible! She's absolutely beside herself, and the noise!! My Dd2 has taken to wearing earplugs at night and I feel like joining her.

We've only had male cats before so this is unknown territory for me; is she suffering? Our two ( neutured!) Maine Coon brothers are fed up with her throwing herself at them and look thoroughly confused.

Any advice as to how I can comfort her?

Unless you are happy to have a nice day of arm humping there is nothing to be done but keep her in and enjoy the song of her people Grin

HOW can such a tiny thing produce such a racket?? She's not an outdoor cat yet, that was to be introduced after the op... I'm being hyper-vigilant about bids for freedom though. Do you think she's actually in pain? It certainly sounds like it!

There's no reason not to spay when in season, it's just a slightly more complicated op but it's done all the time.

Hopefully it won't last much longer. You're right to be extra careful about escapes!

My vet wouldn't do it because of the risk of haemorrhage, I was told. I guess we'll wait it out and forget about sleep for the next week...

Keep going it will get better in a few days.

When mine came into season (stray so no chance to spay) going shu shu shu seemed to calm her down for about 5 mins.

There were no male cats so she attempted to entice my male flatmate!

I have heard of cotton buds being used to 'relieve' the cat but personally I wouldn't do it.

You will never forget the noise. The noise is to attract boy cats so it has to be loud.

You might get toms spraying around your door, we did when our ex queen had to have a season before spaying.

Our male kept mounting her and getting thrown off when he couldn't follow through.

Cotton buds?? I'll do almost anything for my pets but, but, just no!
