Hi i have a kitten only had him a few days. He is 15 weeks. The lady i got him from fed him on whiskas 1+ wet food with jelly. She said he was earing it fine. The first day i bought him home i fed him a pouch and he ate it fine. Hes been with me now for 3 days nearly 4 and i have gave him his food and he is only eating the jelly and leaving the meat. So i tryed him on whiskas dry food, he eats only a few bisquits then thats it. Im worried he is not eating enough. Any advice please and tips of what to do please? Thank you
Donna

I'd look for decent grain free kitten food. Whiskas dry is pretty bad with not a lot of meat and too much cereal. Maybe have a look in pets at home as they are more likely to have higher meat content foods

Try mashing the chunks into the jelly and only feeding half a pouch at a time.

Whiskas is basically cat McDonalds, it’s just crap and mush, you want to get him onto a good kitten food quickly but gradually as change can upset their stomachs. Mine mostly had Lily’s Kitchen as kittens, now they have Trive wet food and Hill’s Young Adult dry.

At 15 weeks I'd have him on kitten food rather than adult. Licking jelly and gravy off the meat is very very common though. It can be a bit trial and error to find one they really like - but never bulk buy because that's the point they'll stop eating it!

Kittens have tiny stomachs, so won't eat much in one go. Try little and often.

Have you a photo of your kitten that we could see? Smile

Pets at home do some good ones
Natures menu kitten
Lily's kitchen kitten
Meowing heads
Applaws kitten
They all do wet and dry

Ah yes, just seen you said Whiskas 1+ too, that’s for cats aged over 1 year, not kittens. I don’t know why they were feeding him that, it’s not suitable. Doesn’t seem like he’s come from a very reputable place, has he been checked by the vet and had all his jabs?

Whisk as is gross that a lot of cats turn their noses up at
The whole licking just the jelly off is a good indicator that they don't actually like it

I bought him felix kitten wet food he just doing the same not actually eating the meat

If they eat the jelly and not the meat they don't like the meat bit ie it's not nice food.
