How do you dust a cat?

My idiot cat decided to walk round a building site. She has come back dusty feeling. I have groomed her but she still feels odd.
Any ideas?

Cotton micro fibre cloth?

mineofuselessinformation · 09/09/2018 20:23

... I would imagine a synthetic one would cause very unwelcome static! Grin

I will see if i can find one. Thanks!

Damp flannel?

Peachpebbles · 09/09/2018 20:33

Have you ever tried bathing her?

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 09/09/2018 20:34

I second the damp flannel, I’ve had a similar problem in the past!

Mississippilessly · 09/09/2018 20:36

I'm scared about bathing her - i quite like my eyes and throat.
Damp flannel much better - will try that armed with Dreamies.

That made me laugh OP Grin it's 50/50 with the cats I've owned, some take to it and some not so much! Good luck with the flannel & dreamies.

Peachpebbles · 09/09/2018 22:16

Oh & is it too late to say pic please or it didn't happen?

Mississippilessly · 09/09/2018 22:36

Peach afraid so. I managed it (ish) but i think she still smells odd. Ahe has a cough so I got worried about her washing herself.
She got about 10 Dreamies. Ive only ever given her 2!

damp flannel and then let her clean herself.

I have never bathed a cat!
(mind you we did have one who jumped in the bath when my mum got out. He also ran across the large pond, and as he started to sink, he just swan. Weird cat!)

When I clean our kitten I fill a bowl with warm water and kitten shampoo and sit him in the sink whilst i use a sponge to clean him. However, my cat does like to jump into a full bath so isn't adverse to water! I would use wipes if you think she won't keep still for a wash.

Our daft cat rolls in dust in summer. He gets a thorough rub down with a wet tea towel, much to his disgust.

Then settles in for a good wash.
