Vomiting cat

Had little tabby boy for just over two months and he's always been a sensitive soul, had diarrhoea and blood in his poo when i first got him. Cue vets visit and a probiotic.

Since had him on Royal Canin sensible dry food to nibble and their Digest sensitive pouches as suggested by the vets which seemed to do him wonders. Put on a bit of weight, coat looked shinier, bowels habits much better. The occasional soft poo but mostly normal cat poops once a day. We we buzzing.

Until the last week or so he's started randomly vomiting Confused First time he'd eaten some grass, and just the grass came up which I know some cats do for furballs etc. So wasn't concerned.

Second time was last week, a proper vomit but was just like regurgitated food but I just put it down to him being over fed because OH gave him a whole pouch in one go and he normally just has half and I'd given him a little bit of salmon Blush

Then this week he's been sick twice. Both times proper vomits with solid food first then a liquid bile afterward Confused No hair balls or anything.

Each time he seems fine in himself. Still runs around playing with his ball, still wants fuss and cuddles, still goes back to his food bowl for more dry food. Don't know what to make of him. Going to ring vets Monday but reluctant to go OOH over the weekend because he seems so well in himself. But really don't want him to lose the weight he put back on because he was looking so much better.

Bless him I feel awful when he's ill, although he doesn't seem to care, his happily running round chasing his furry mouse Hmm

Anyone else got a sticky cat?

Have you wormed him?

Orangelover · 08/09/2018 23:47

I haven't but he'd just been wormed when he came to me 2 months ago, so coming up to being due. No other signs of worms. And as he's been in a new home he's been kept in apart from a wander in our small garden.

My Boycat has previous for this. Every now & again he bolts his food down (they are normally grazers, & there's food there all the time) and throws it up almost immediately. Sometimes there's a second vomit which is just liquid, and like you no hairballs or anything.

I did mention it to the vet at their last MOT and he said only to worry if it got more frequent, as Boycat is an anxiety feeder which means he bolts his food if he's feeling stressed or insecure for any reason - in Boycat's case, this can be anything from someone knocking at the door to there being heavy rain outside, he has a few issues!

Yeah this lad does have a few anxiety issues. He's very nervy, gradually getting better. Not going to lie I could do with out a cat sick on my carpet every week ShockGrin

Cat1 pukes if he over-eats.
Cat3 is chronic pukey... after he lost some weight we got a suite of blood tests, the most likely diagnoses were things that are treated with by steroids; the most likely problem is some kind of intestinal inflammation. The steroids seem to help but I forget to give them daily so sure enough kitty still puking kind of regularly.

Disgusting parasites.

I have a frequently pukey cat. She just always has been. For what it’s worth, simple solutions does stain and odour remover carpet cleaner stuff. It’s amazing.

He's vommed again tonight Confused Vets tomorrow I think! Might be food related I don't know but I feel bad for the little fella!
