Kitten won't eat dry cat biscuits

We have two lovely kittens who we adopted at the end of July, they are now 16 weeks old.

We have been feeding them Animonda carny wet food, 4 times a day which they are happy with. They eat around 200g each per day

We also have applaws dry biscuits out also so they can snack any time.

The problem is only one kitten will eat the biscuits, the other one wont touch them. We have tried a few mini sample packs the vet gave us also but he didnt eat them either.

Now I am happy for them to primarily eat just wet food. However they are still quite small as they were apparently rescued very underweight at 4 weeks old, so only 1.3kg still. So we have been told feeding them 4 times a day is better than 2 as they can't eat a large amount at once.

This is fine day to day, as at least one of us works from home so can feed them whenever. But we have a few days coming up where for various reasons we will be out from 8am- 9pm approximately. They can be fed am and pm fine, but wet food left out will be horrid as its warm here. So im looking for any suggestions of other brands of dry food a fussy kitten might eat.

We live overseas, but i have been getting a delivery from zooplus.de so anything available via that is fine, or we have things like whiskers etc in the supermarkets and own brands ,which i have avoided so far as didn't think they were great quality. However its only really needed for the odd day here and there so i guess it wouldnt be that bad really.

We also have a few several day trips next month when a neighbour will be coming in twice a day to feed them. Again biscuits left for in between would be nice so i dont worry they will starve! Although they will be at least a month older by then.

They like cosma snacks, but would eat then all before we left the house!

Or will they really just be fine being fed just twice a day on those days?

Can you tell im a new cat owner? Dh says i pander to them more than a human baby

no specific advice on kittens sorry but cats can be very sensitive and contrary! As long as they will eat something they're probably ok, so just give them that.
One of ours for a while would only eat the "fishy" flavours of cat food, then suddenly went off them and only liked "meaty". She loves go cat biscuits but hates tesco own...
The other one got a rash when we switched from tesco to morrisons cat litter and all the fur on her bum fell out...

It's good for cat to be primarily on a wet diet as it's well known they take in far more liquid on wet than on dry even if they're a good drinker. However, I agree dry is great for convenience. It might be worth trying one or two more brands, maybe adding a little water to start with so it's softer - if your little one will eat it like that, you can slowly reduce the water.

Another good option is to invest in a pet feeder with an icepack, so you can time it to open up later in the day

I use canagan which is fab stuff, but the lady in the pet shop suggested either putting a bit of water on it to start with or a few seconds in the microwave to release some of the juices.

Forgot to say, we have tried adding a little hot water to the applaws biscuits and letting cool. The kitten will then eat a few if no wet food is down. But this isn't really helpful as its the fact that i would like something dry down for convenience whilst we are out. At home happy to just give wet anyway.

Kitten number two eats anything.
