My cat has escaped!

I posted a few weeks back because we were moving house with 2 outdoor cats. We have moved into a first floor flat with 20 foot ceilings so it's more like a 2nd floor flat...

Anyway, today little Mildred took a leap. We have been here 3 weeks next Tuesday but they haven't been out yet as they don't know where the front door is! The windows have been open every day and not proved to be a temptation but she obviously couldn't wait anymore!

I tried to get her but she freaks out and runs away. I can't see her or hear her at all now. It's no use sending my other cat out to find her as he doesn't know where the front door is either....

She's not bothered by dreamies/tuna/food in general and it was very stressful even getting her in the crate to move house, so she's a bit nervous of everyone at the moment.

We live in the grounds of a school so she's pretty safe from cars/predators but Dennis is already missing her, and she will have a long night ahead!!

Words of wisdom are appreciated!!

Put her litter tray outside to help her find the scent of home .

That's a great idea about the litter tray.
You'll be surprised about what they know.
Perhaps leave a window ajar and something outside to help her get up to it.
She will come back.

So I've put the litter tray by the enterance door - the issue being that it's the other side of the building she jumped from so I'm not sure she's brave enough to find it by herself. We live in a huge grade 2 listed building and our flat is one of many!

My other cat is constantly miaowing, pining and looking for her. He's devastated. I keep opening the windows and calling her but I can't hear anything, not even the teeniest rustle of leaves.

I will go out in the morning and try to attempt to feed her. I can't imagine she's gone far, but what do I know!

Early morning or late at night is a good time to go looking when everything is quiet.

Good luck
