Flea product for spraying new home?

Help! We moved into a new home a few days ago. The first thing I did was rip out all the carpets and take them to the tip, so we're now living on underlay until we can replace them. I thought that would help to eliminate fleas from the previous owner's cat, but I've now started to get itchy bites around my ankles. I read the guide on the Cats Protection website and it recommended using a "suitable spray". Any recommendations?

In the meantime our own cat is just one day into exploring the new house having been kept in a single room (with wood floors) for the first few days after we moved. She had her normal monthly flea treatment the day before we moved so I'm hoping that will protect her from being infested. Yes? Or should I keep her confined until I can spray the rest of the house?

Indorex is supposed to be good. The treated cat should be killing any that land on her

Indorex is fantastic we use it once a year as dd has a flea allergy and haven't had fleas in the house since we started using it

Indorex. I sprayed everything that didn't move and hoovered like a crazy woman every day.
Bloody hate fleas

Oh and which flea treatment did you use for the cat? 'Proper' ones that you have to buy from the vet or from the vet bit at Pets At Home are more effective than just off the shelf ones apparently.

Indorex or flea bomb each room, you also need to vacuum everywhere a lot especially round the skirting boards. Also do the matresses and soft furnishings etc.
I'd keep the cat in one room till I'd sprayed all over and done the hoovering. Its best to be on the safe side.
Empty the vac into a bag after hoovering and put in the outside bin straigh away. Good luck with it all.
Its awful, I've had this twice, once as a student when the house was infested and a couple of years ago. I underestimated how difficult they were to get rid of.

yes I've always used Indorex, well worth the money.

I've also used a steamer, that will kill live fleas but you have to be aware it can make eggs hatch, so it's worth doing a day or so later as well
