Keeping outside cat in?

We've had building work going on that means we're temporarily without a cat flap and we're supposed to be going away this weekend... The new flap should have been in, but it's all been a bit delayed. Can anyone let me know if it's ok to keep her inside for a couple of days? We can have someone pop in to feed her, but they won't be here for all that long and I'm worried if they let her out she won't come back quickly enough. She's fine being left short term, but she's always been able to come in and out freely.

Can't she just meow at the door and window? My cats have never had a flap and they've always just done outraged meowing at the doors. If I don't hear my little cat now she stands on the window sill and tells me off when I do the washing up!

That's what she does at the moment! And I'm mostly working at home so we can have a door open, the problem is that there won't be any one in the house over the weekend other than a short visit to put out fresh food.

We always leave our outdoor cats in when we go on holiday and my mum just pops in and feeds them and changes the litter tray (which you obviously need) they probably don't like it but it's much safer than leaving them out all the time

Oh right! Well she'd be fine indoors OP....she'll be a bit annoyed I imagine but better than stuck outside.

I actually get a pet sitter (who lives in) while we’re away. It’s a bit expensive but we have several pets, one being an outdoor male cat who needs to roam and explore his turf. We don’t have a cat flap, but of course at home, I know when he’s ready to come inside- he let’s me know.
Our pet sitter keeps doors open while she’s in and keeps an eye on window sills, listens for meows at the door, etc. I don’t even think our cat notices we’re gone! Grin All of his little ‘ways’ remain in place courtesy of the pet sitter.
Your vet may have a few pet sitters to recommend. They can live in or pop in to check on kitty a couple/few times a day.

Thanks all, that's reassuring. I think we'll see how keeping her in goes! She's generally very easy going, I don't know why this has been worrying me so much.
