Help! I've curried my cat..

Any ideas on how to remove curry stains from cat fur??

Made a curry last night and because I'm a slattern I was tired, left the dishes in the sink. My girl, despite having a perfectly decent water bowl, obviously decided that wasn't good enough and has somehow managed to get the oily residue off soaking dishes, onto her white fur.

I came down this morning to find curry paw prints on the couch and orange oily body blobs where she's been sitting/laying down. She hates her tum being touched, so have tried to towel her off. Is there anything I can do to get this off her? Or just nature take its course and she'll wash herself of it, eventually? My couch on the other hand..

Help! I've curried my cat..

Bless her!

ChishandFips33 · 24/07/2018 19:32

Gin what a great photo! No denying what she got up to there when you weren't looking!

ThomasRichard · 24/07/2018 19:43

Pussalla rather than Massala, surely? Wink

GinGeum · 24/07/2018 20:38

He licked the chilli pot clean when I’d put it next to the sink and gone for a shower - I think that is his face of regret Grin he looked very smug when I first came out of the bathroom thinking I’d never know what he’d been up to!

Vinorosso74 · 24/07/2018 23:34

Oh my! Hopefully there's no erm after effects from eating a spicy curry......

phlewf · 24/07/2018 23:40

It fades eventually. I know because I have 3 cats with white beards and 2 occasionally have remnants of whatever was left in the dishwasher with the door open. The third one has a permanent brown beard and will not be deterred from sticking her face in anything. Freshly blown out candle was a highlight. Now she paws them to check they are hard.

SlowDown76mph · 25/07/2018 10:55

Bleach is the only thing I've found for curry stains on worktops. But, be extra careful, bleach is toxic to cats and yours has form!

CrystalHCarrington · 25/07/2018 11:57

@GinGeum

What a gorgeous photo! And cute curried cat.

I never knew curried cat was a thing - but look apparently so.

HappyEverIftar · 25/07/2018 13:44

Update: it's all gone! All of it!! I am Shock

I'll post a pic later if I can get her to pose. I am baffled. It was not for shifting yesterday but now it's all gone Confused It's a midsummer mystery.

I once got red hair dye on a white guinea-pig - I did my hair and obviously didn't wash it off properly. Picked up the guinea and popped her on my shoulder. Put her back - great big orangey red blob on her side.

She was not amused at having a chunk of fur cut off (just in case). She was even less amused at the bath.

But I don;t think that would be the answer here - how would you like to be scalped every time you have a ruby?

Kitta pussala indeed Grin Grin

sizeofalentil · 25/07/2018 14:38

Careful, next time she might slip in to a korma…

bellinisurge · 25/07/2018 15:16

@HappyEverIftar Hurrah! And there'll be another photo. Win/win!
Until you find it's wiped off somewhere
Glad all Ok

HappyEverIftar · 25/07/2018 15:58

And very helpful she looks too.

ALongHardWinter · 25/07/2018 17:44

OMG I just had to look to see what this was about after reading that thread title. Sorry,no advice OP but I'm Grin.

Couchpotato3 · 25/07/2018 19:40

My cats loooooooove curry and would be happy to roll around in it and lick it off for days afterwards.

MyMagicStars · 25/07/2018 20:09

This has made my day Grin. They use washing up liquid to get stains off seabirds, don't they? You could try a spray bottle.

thisneverendingsummer · 25/07/2018 20:38
Grin

I am sure it will wash off/wear off!

Hilarious thread!

WoollyMollyMonkey · 25/07/2018 21:20

Well my cat has bit of an upset tummy. She’s just come to sit on my lap (which she very rarely does) and wiped her dirty bottom on my white skirt!

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 25/07/2018 21:33

Hilarious !!! Sorry OP...but glad to hear its all off...only came on to say beautiful cat Smile

Topseyt · 25/07/2018 21:38

I'm thinking that Tikka actually sounds like a good name for a cat. Grin

Pinklady11 · 25/07/2018 21:44

Have a friend who once dropped her hamster in a ticka masala. Not sure on the attempts to get rid of the orange, but she did take his mirror out of the cage so he wouldn't be upset if he saw himself Smile

1forAll74 · 26/07/2018 00:30

Don't worry too much about cats getting curried, cats getting gorgeous beetroot stains on them, and cats getting any colour gloss paint on their paws, it miraculously disappears after a short time.. Clean cats, never need Cilit bang, !!

Dontblameitontheboogie · 26/07/2018 01:36

Argh, "D"H fed the dog leftover chicken curry tonight which
A) I'd asked him not to do as the results won't be pretty (and he's out all day tomorrow, so guess who'll be cleaning it up)
B) It was a bloody nice curry (homemade) and enough for our dinner tomorrow night (children are leaving on camp tomorrow) - I had it all planned! Now there's enough left for one - guess I'll be having that and I'll tell "D"H sorry, your dinner is in the dog!!!

lightlypoached · 26/07/2018 06:56

once she's licked it off (the cat i mean) she'll shit for England.Grin
