Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice! We have a 7 month old British blue boy. He is a beautiful boy with a lovely nature and very cheeky side (I've attached a picture). However, we have had a problem with him since we got him around 4 months old with him weeing.
He is completely litter trained and has used it ever since we first brought him home. He's on his own majority of the day and has free reign of the house including bedrooms and is fine, the moment we get home he decides that he is going to go and pee on the bed or on our clothes. This has happened around 6 or 7 Times. If we go into a bedroom we have to make sure the door is closed behind us before he darts in otherwise he is straight onto the bed.
We had him castrated approx a month ago, the vet said this would help. And a month has gone and no issues, until last night he sprayed on my partners clothes and then this morning got into my sons bed and sprayed. The difference now is he is spraying whereas before he was doing a full wee, either way it's unpleasant!

He is a house cat and we are wondering if we should allow him outside? Perhaps he is getting frustrated? Any advice Would be appreciated!

https://icatcare.org/advice/problem-behaviour/soiling-indoors is really good advice on soiling in cats. As an indoor cat you will need to do a fair amount of environmental enrichment to keep his stress levels down and to allow him to express normal behaviours this link https://icatcare.org/advice/making-your-home-cat-friendly gives you lots of advice on how to do this.

@Toddlerteaplease he certainly is! Everyone comments on him. He even converted a non cat lover

Thank you@Lonecatwithkitten I'll have a read this evening. Anything to help, it's such a shame coz I would love to have him in with us at night but we just have to shut him out

I've had similar issues with my cat, same breed, but just really careful about keeping bedroom doors shut!
She has gradually started going outdoors and spending time in the garden but is not very adventurous luckily!

Might be stressed and bored alone all day. Maybe a mate or let him help but he might get stolen. I think with indoor cats it's good to have two.

What a gorgeous kitty! I also have a BSH and she's a house cat - seems pretty chilled about it. She's fairly senior though so not too energetic and happy to sleep lots. She always runs and has a good scratch on her post when we get in from work as she seems to get excited.

A companion might be an idea for your kitten if he's getting bored all day then overexcited when you get home.
