Shall I leave the collar off then?

I blooming loved that collar it glowed in the dark so I could spot Daph when I was begging her to come in. She’s been a nightmare to get in lately. Anyway she liked wearing it and it’s the first time it’s gone missing it’s spooked me abit thinking what she’s done and thank god it was a good quick release. Should I leave it she looks funny without it! Dolly has had about ten and they’ve lasted five minutes so she’s slways been collarless.

I am not a fan of collars, no real purpose and can cause horrible injuries. No breakaway mechanism is 100% reliable, why risk it?

We are in the same situation. One of our cars hasn’t been seen for days having been fairly absent prior to that thanks to the heat I suspect. She doesn’t wear a collar and I had a moment of feeling guilty and like a neglectful cat owner.

I think collars offer more harm than good to be honest so leave it off but you have my sympathies!

Microchips are much more reliable for identifying and returning lost cats. Many rescue organisations and all vets can scan for chips. Please make sure your details are up to date with the chip company though, we have had a few cats where the contact details don’t work.
