Furminator or professional groom

Morning all!
We've got a rag doll who is struggling a bit with the heat. She is moulting all over the place and despite combing her everyday, she is looking a bit scruffy. Wondering what people's experiences are with professional grooming? She was a breeding queen before she came to us and has been shown, so I used to grooming etc. She will happily sit and be bathed, if and when she has needed to be. I just don't want to shell out £60 if it's not going to do much more than we could at home.
Does anyone have a furminator and used it on their raggie? Has it made a difference to their coat?
So many question.... but here is a picture of our girl as a sweetener! Grin

I have my long haired Persians professionally groomed every 3-4 months. Furminator only takes the top coat off. I could tell immediately that they were more comfortable in the heat once the undercoat has been thinned out. My two were rescues do not used to being groomed for longer periods as yours are. And get fed up. So the groomer is better at it than I am as she's more used to handling reluctant cats! You'd be amazed at the amount of fur that comes off them! If you are in the East Midlands area I highly recommend the one that does my girls.

Ps they are different cats. But the one on the left was pre groom. And the one on the right was post groom!

It depends if you have the money I guess. We couldn’t afford to get our cat groomed (he’s a short hair though) and have a furminator. It definitely helps him. I’d say they are worth the money.

PsZ the cheaper furminators are just as good as the branded ones.
