Cat doesn't drink - ever

I always have fresh water out for her just in case she finally decides to try liquids, but it hasn't happened yet.

I'm a bit worried about her in this heat. She only likes biscuits and treats, so she's not even taking in liquid from wet food. And she doesn't want to be in the shade, she sunbathes on paving stones that hurt my feet they're so hot.

She seems totally fine though. Do I accept she's some kind of cat/camel hybrid, or is there something I could do? (I did toy with the idea of physically putting water on her fur so she licks it off, but she's very highly strung and will probably freak out.)

If putting water on her fur even with facecloth, cover her eyes with other hand as long as she cant see she is getting wet, no worries as soon as hand covering eyes is released and she releases she is wet she will run off - useful tip

Well she will be drinking water otherwise she would be very poorly. As she is an outside cat she probably has a preferred water source outside she drinks from. Our cat used to drink from next door neighbours pond only and when they filled it in she spent a long time miowing at them angrily whenever they went in their garden.

We had two cats, brothers, one would lie in the sink under a dripping tap lapping it up. I’ve only ever seen the other cat drink once, yesterday. From a cup of water.

I asked the vet and he said if your ca5 has always drunk water and stops, worry. If you’ve never seen the cat drink and he starts, worry.

When he says worry, he meant take the vets.

I reckon my cat has been drinking but that scummy source has dried up.

Try offering her it off a teaspoon

Maybe she had a water source somewhere - we live literally next to a wood, no streams but water probably collects in places - but the ground is dry as a bone now.

The catmilk! I've found she won't acknowledge it in the house - an extreme version of not drinking where she eats? - and she won't drink while she can see me (what kind of psychological drama is going on with this cat?!) but when I put it outside on a saucer she will drink a little bit once she thinks I've gone. So, enough of a success to invest in a multipack, thanks! (I've also started sprinkling water on top of her dry food and she's definitely suspicious, but she hasn't rejected it yet.)
