Poorly kitty

Just dropped my beautiful grey cat off at the vets for tests. She's had 3 episodes of weeing blood in the last 3 months. They're doing bladder scans and X-rays to check there's nothing untoward going on. Just had a call to say she has raised liver enzymes so they're going to check her thyroid too.

I'm a nervous wreck waiting for news. She's my baby and has been with me through thick and thin over the past 13 years!

Sending you good thoughts. I've had cats with hyperthyroidism, which is generally very manageable. I don't know anything about raised enzymes. She's in good hands. Let us know how things go Flowers

Poor baby. I hope everything goes well for her. 💐

They are long days, these days, aren't they OP?! Thinking of you, and her. Brew🐟

aww
crossing my fingers for her speedy return to health.

Thank you for all the well wishes!

Frustratingly the vets have told me that she's come round from sedation fine but refuse to tell me anymore until my 5pm appointment. This is the last straw on this vets for me, I'll be moving her from there!

Good luck OP. See what the vet says before making any decisions. Try to go in with a cool head. The main thing today is to find out what's happening with her and get her home.

OliviaStabler · 20/06/2018 16:17

Good luck. Let us know how you get on

I think a lot of vets do this. Hope you're OK. You'll see her soon.

After £360 worth of tests there doesn't appear to be anything wrong, they think it's reoccurring stress cystitis. I've spoken to the vets and there are a few things we're trying to reduce her stress.
The thyroid thing appears to be absolutely fine, they're going to test again in a month.
Thanks again for thoughts and good wishes. It's always nice to have the support of cat people who understand!

Put your feet up with your cat on your lap, OP. You've both had a stressful day. All the best to you both.
