Missing cat or missing owner?!

I've been feeding a stray cat for 2 weeks (much to my two boys dismay). It's so thin and frail. I've tried asking neighbours, posting on the Facebook community page and writing a paper collar (but no one removed the collar or rang my number).

It has fleas and possibly worms. It eats more like a horse than a tiny cat.

I've been waiting to have a day off work so I could take it to the vet to see if it has a chip.

Finally I got the chance today.

So the good news is that the cat had a chip. The bad news is that the chip was unregistered. Angry

With some hard work from the vets, they managed to find out who implanted the chip and cross checked it with their diary of appointments and their records to find an owner. How they managed that is beyond me! BlushGrin Cat's name is Charlotte. 😸

They live about 30 minutes drive away. This poor little cat has done some miles!

More bad news, they cannot get hold of the owner.

My details have been taken. Charlotte is home with me, well outside anyway. They said if they don't get back to me by the end of the week, to call back.

My issue is that this Charlotte needs treatment. I'm debating whether or not to go and buy a cheap flea collar to tide her over, as much as I hate collars and don't think they're very effective. Surely better than nothing?

No news from the vet or possible owners today Sad I'm holding out hope that they get in touch.

We left food out for Charlotte this morning, all gone by the the time dh came home from work. She was waiting for him and came in for some more food. Then went back out.

She was waiting for me when I got home just after 10 pm and had some more food and some fuss. She had a little wander around the house and then went out.

On a positive note, I didn't see her scratch at all this evening so hopefully the flea treatment has already started working.

Also, she doesn't respond or react to the name Charlotte Hmm I may go back to calling her Cat as she ignores me either way Grin

Thanks for the update 🐱

Still no news from the owners. The vets have also posted on their Facebook page asking for the owner to get in touch and it has been shared a couple of hundred times.

Charlotte is 15 years old Shock

Aw bless her. Will you beable to keep her?

kocerhan3 · 17/06/2018 15:53

Aw bless, this thread has warmed my heart - you're such a good person. She's a very old cat, perhaps she had an elderly owner who's passed hence not responding - very sad if so. Will be watching closely for news!

Oh bless her. 15 years old and still gorgeous.

Glad you put the stronghold on her. She must feel a lot better in herself

Hope the owners come forward for you
