Thyroid issues, diarrhoea, old. PTS?

My beloved rescue is 14 or 15. She's been having treatment for hyperthyroidism for over a year but still has vv high levels. Heart murmur. Cancerous nipple. Appalling teeth. But we love her.

Took her to the vets last week-for check up and it seems each time she goes, it gets more traumatic for her.

This week she's lost yet more weight. She's having explosive watery shits, like brown water.

Do I take her for yet more tests and trauma?

Do I take her to be PTS?

Do I leave her and let nature take its course?

She's clingy and hungry all the time but only eats the gravy

I don't know what to do. Am away from Friday for a week leaving her with my DC.

Please advise as I promised her I would always look after her.

I had similar problems with my beautiful rescue cat earlier this year (without the diarrhoea- thank god!)

Her hyperthyroidism combined with kidney disease and a cyst that she just couldn’t fight the infection of and needed surgery for meant that we made the sad decision to PTS. It was the most heartbreaking decision but the vet supported us in that we were making a kind decision.

Whatever decision you make my thoughts are with you as it’s a horrible position to be in.

In your shoes I'd PTS. Sometimes you have to be brave & do the kindest thing. It sounds like it's time. I'm so sorry Flowers

Has the vet said why she's got watery diarrhea? If she's happy enough, all be it full of ailments, can you wait until you come back from your trip to see how she is? Will your vet do a house call to give her a check up? I've had 2 cats with hyperthyroidism and other ailments, who lived to 20. Ask the vet and see what they say.
