Bringing home a rescue

So, I've had some ups and downs lately and am trying to rebuild the life I've always wanted.

I grew up with cats and have only not been around them because of my former relationship, he wouldn't entertain them.

I have visited Blue Cross rescue and am bringing two 13 (nearly 14) year old cats home on Friday - they were adorable! And I really can't wait, but I am super nervous! Is this daft?

Any advice for bringing home two older rescue cats?

Oh they look gorgeous - the grey one is like an older version of my youngster. I hoe you are enjoying them. Are they lap cats?

I'd have loved to have known them when they were younger - but they're wonderful golden oldies!

Yes they are lap cats - particularly the male (Tigger - the one playing), which surprised me. But Tia the female loves to cuddle up when it's bed time!

This has bought quite a lump to my throat. So glad those lovely oldies aren’t ending their life in a rescue but in a loving home.

What a lovely thread! My own cat would unfortunately not tolerate another cat in the house but I still find myself looking at adoption pages ( I don’t know why I do it to myself! 😬) I really feel for the older cats so I love it when someone like you gives them a home! Here’s to wishing you all many years of happiness!

How lovely! Wishing them happy years ahead with you!

Hope you all have a lovely life together. They're very sweet and so healthy looking.

RickOShay what a beauty! Smile

Thanks everyone else - it's wonderful seeing them playing, and then lounging on the windowsill in the sun. If I had room I'd have all the oldies come to stay! You might not get them for as many years but the happiness and comfort they bring to your life is amazing!
