What’s wrong with my cat?

My cat is almost 4 years old and I’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old. She has been in perfect health (other than when she swollowed a 5p!) but ive noticed a change in her recently.

She is a Tortie so usually cheeky, nosey and full of energy. The past couple of days she has been sleeping more, being lazy and not doing the usual sprinting around the house at 2am. The back of her neck/head also looks greasy. I washed it incase she had something on her fur but it made no difference. Her appetite is also reduced.

We recently switched her from Whiskas wet to Iams dry food (she usually eats Encore or Sainsburys grain free dry food) but I put her back on Whiskas today and she’s barely touched it. Iams is not grain free so I thought maybe she didn’t agree with that food.

Could it be the weather? As it’s been rather warm. We are so, so skint so taking to the vet would be a last resort as the excess
is £75 which we really dont have to spare. Of course if its something that doesn’t pass in the next few days then I’ll find the money, but just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what could be wrong? We have a small problem with carpet moths at the moment and she has been chasing and eating them the past few days, would this cause GI upset?

Thanks

Gosh, it could be anything. Not sure what the greasy neck is. Do you deflea her regularly and have her inoculations done annually? It could be the heat, if it's very warm.

Is she any better now? Does she drink water? She might be dehydrated and no amount of water will rehydrate her. She'll need to be rehydrated via a drip.

I wouldn't leave taking her to the vet much longer, if she's not getting better. Ask them if you can pay in instalments?

Sorry, not very useful to you.

She has found another home where they are feeding her, and have given her a flea treatment on thr back of her neck?

I would get your cat to the vet as soon as you can.

The combination of grease on her fur plus not being herself, not eating, not running around like usual, sounds like she got into something toxic or got something toxic on her fur and ingested it when grooming herself.
I think you have to take her to the vet, I'm afraid.

Cats do get more subdued in warm weather, or at least, mine do, but they still have a healthy appetite, so no, this doesn't sound normal.
