Can I re-do my cats flea treatment after only a few days?

Just that really. Have a very wriggly cat and I'm not 100% sure all of the spot on treatment actually went on her- and how much was applied correctly. Its been a few days and I spotted a nasty little flea on her today!

Can I safely give them another round of treatment?

My vet told me to wait 2 weeks and then give another treatment (stronghold) if I wasn’t sure it’s gone on. Depending on what you use, it’s worth checking with them.

Which spot on is it? If it's not from a vet then it may be ineffective anyway

No, don't dose again so soon, you need to follow the instructions. An overdose can be toxic to the cat.

Every 10 to 14 days, 3 applications, so 3 over a month to 6 weeks usually kills them. It's the lifecycle of the lice/flea..

Check with your vet as some can and some not, others are weight dependent. Can also get an injection from the vet that stops fleas from reproducing and I've found that more effective than the spot on stuff

Will pop into the vets tomorrow and ask.

Its the bob martin spot on- which I normally avoid using like the plague- but awaiting my normal flea treatment to be delivered and they needed doing! Baby brain has resulted in me breaking the cycle of flea treatment... so need to get rid of the fleas now!

Hopefully vet will be able to advise- have previously used spot on, oral tablets and cat shampoo (now that was an experience!) all in the same month with advice from vets so hoping the bob martin spot on means I'll be able to treat again soon- the nasty little buggers are so visible on my little white cat!

Never, ever use the Bob Martin flea treatments, cats have died from those!

Go to the vet's and get the proper stuff.
In general, flea treatments don't prevent fleas from getting onto a cat outdoors etc., so you might see a live flea but it will soon die...

Nothing like a bit of scaremongering! BM withdrew all products containing permethrin in 2014 because people kept using dog products on cats.

OP is far more likely to have used one containing fipronil which a lot of fleas have become resistant to. Or dimethicone, which is pretty ineffective as a spot on.

Either way, a vet can advise on appropriate safe and effective products.
