So dcat had one on her neck. I managed to pull it out with my tick removing tool, but the fucker flicked off onto the sofa somewhere. Will it die quickly, or will it reattach itself to someone, shudder Shock

Moral..... always remove them outside ! Seriously though, yes, it will probably be crawling around in your sofa somewhere waiting to attach itself to its next victim. They move upwards, like they do on grass, or bushes, so hoover obsessively for a few days. I found a couple crawling around on my sofa last year, yuk, and some on the kitchen floor, so they do crawl around. Just keep an eye out, but try not to obsess too much. Yes, some do carry Lyme, but only about 2%, and even if you are bitten, they need to be attached for a couple of days to get infected so the actual chances of being infected are pretty low.

Argh. I've been sitting on the sofa! I removed it there as she was sitting on my lap. She's since been giving me the death stare, and I'm all itchy.
