Fussy Eater.. Ideas

I posted a bit on here about Senior Boy who was pts in Feb. I still have his sibling Senior Girl (17 in May) and have adopted a Romanian Orphan from a place that rescues Romanian dogs and some cats. She's a funny feisty thing, the kitten of a feral/stray dumped at the shelter in Romania. She's 18 months old but prior to coming to me had only ever lived in shelter /cattery. In cattery and lived wth two other cats and ate whatever was put out, she was like that when she first arrived here but now has decided that both chicken and tuna thrive, gourmet perle and sheba fine flakes are inedible. I wanted to give her a high quality diet (so Thrive wet complemented with Thrive or similar biscuits/kibble).... Nothing seems popular but she is not unwell or off her food, will try and steal anything I eat, scrounge off the dc's plates etc.

What does anyone else feed their fussy cats. Senior Girl can be fussy but she's a tiny wee thing of less than 3kg and has never been food motivated but will always eat sheba fine flakes or Thrive tuna.

Gratuitous pic of Romanian Orphan attached and state if rejected cat food offerings.

We have a high needs 3 legged female Millie , who, of course is inside most of the time and we have 4 other strays\rescues one of whom was ill when he arrived in our garden. We feed them a mix of raw turkey and special ,for animals, beef, With pouches and sometimes dry food by James Wellbeloved. It's the best prepared food we have ever used. They are all pictures of health now! No neurotic behaviour , but cats do love changes in their diets don't they? Millie sometimes has low salt tinned tuna.

What a sweetie. What sort of food does she try and steal off your plates, maybe she is used to scrounging for her food.

Mine is a fussy sod. What works is putting out tiny amounts, so if I feed the applaws mousse (recommended) I feed half a small tin. He also likes natures menu
For dry food, I bought wild freedom off zooplus and he went insane for it - if I get the pack out he actually cries until he has some Confused but Lily's kitchen 9or meowing heads dry is also approved
So yes, I buy single sachets of stuff until he has tried it, put down a spoonful and leave it. If he doesn't eat it by the next mealtime I remove and bin it. Not giving any wet food for 2-3 days also seems to help
Any rejected stuff goes to the feral stable kittens who eat anything!

Fresh chicken, tuna, prawns, does she like crunchy things.

.... Well after pestering all day she's eaten olive bread off lunch guests plate, attacked and killed a bag of spinach (which she did not eat but threw leaves about) and just since I've been to sainsbury 's for some of their grain free and am about to serve supper to get abs Senior Girl she's eaten the thrive chicken that was breakfast!

She was obviously waiting for a two course mealSmile

If you check out manufacturers' websites, many will send sample packs, so you could try a few options.
Mine is fussy in that he eats one flavour of one brand of dry, Lik-e-liks, cat salami sticks, roast chicken as long as fresh from the oven and not refrigerated, the occasional Dreamie if he's in the mood to indulge me and that's it.
But, he reliably eats these. Anything else I attempt to treat him to is treated with incredibly polite distain.

Yes the little and often rule works for house cats, it's annoying but it's effective!
