Best way to get cat to gain weight?

She is minute. Nothing medically wrong but just absolutely tiny. Currently has Harringtons dry food all day, and hi life sachets morning and night with a cat soup at lunchtime. She desperately needs to gain weight! Please give me all your suggestions!

What age?
Is she neutered?
Can you feel her ribs? (Is she thin or just a bit small?)

She’s 18 months, was already spayed when I got her from the RSPCA at 8 weeks Angry. She was a wreck when I got her (see pic). Riddled with worms and giardia, eyes barely open. She’s clear of the giardia, eats like a horse but is still tiny! She’s happy enough, bounces around the garden like a mad thing. I just worry about how small she is!

I'd take her to the vet to see the vet nurse, they can weigh her and tell you if she is actually underweight. I think cats are supposed to be quite slim really. This is usually free as well.
Also she may be tiny because she was spayed so early on, you could ask them about that as well.
I'd just give her what she can eat if she o.k for her age/sex. If she is underweight give her some extra thats tasty like Sheba and treats.

We have two torties. They are tiny but not skinny. Vet nurse is a great idea.

She’s currently scaling the Apple tree in the garden, hasn’t even yowled for breakfast Hmm.
Maybe she’s just destined to be tiny. Or maybe it’s just because next to my chunky lot she looks so tiny!

My NDN has a miniscule cat, really tiny. She was rescued from a pub car park or something when she was a few months old in a dreadful condition - skin & bone, covered in fleas etc. Apparently a rather unpleasant looking guy came into the pub a couple of days later asking about a cat with her description, and everyone kept quiet!

Many years later (she was adult when I moved here 10 years ago) she's perfectly fit and healthy (though overweight) and still one of the tiniest adult moggies I've met. A rough start in life can keep them small forever, especially if she would have been naturally small anyway.

Well she certainly had a rough start bless her. RSPCA neglected to tell me she was from a feral colony... or that she had giardia. Nice of them Hmm.
The suns been out today and she’s loved being in the garden, climbing the trees and racing around. Maybe I just have to accept that she’s always going to be small! I suppose I feel guilty as next to my other 4 she looks like she’s starved and neglected!

Harringtons isn’t a great quality food and I’m pretty sure hi life is complimentary rather than complete. If she has a small appetite try to find high quality complete food so that every mouthful counts. Things like natures menu have a high meat content without grains (which are just bulking agents to make the food cheaper to make, with no nutritional benefits for your cat).

My old girl eats kitten food by choice, it's higher in protein and as she has hyperthyroidism I just keep stuffing it down her.
