Cat vomits regularly

Since being allowed outside again after a house move, my lovely little 3YO keeps vomiting. There's no triggers that we can figure out- if she manages to break into the kitchen and eat some 'people food' she is more likely to be ill. Majority of the time she just has wet cat food though.
But the vomiting continues! It's not every day- very random and maybe once or twice a week- but there will be weeks without an incident.

Is this likely to just be her eating too much grass or could this be more serious?!

One if my friends cats has been doing this since going out again. But she's otherwise well so likely eating grass and getting furballs as she's shedding loads.

I start to carefully watch my (indoor) Boycat if he HASN'T thrown up for a couple of weeks, and he doesn't often get hairballs. In his case, he goes through phases of bolting down his food then throwing it up, despite having dry down ad lib.

Get some hair ball paste. Helps mine.

She's a shorthaired moggy, does this make any difference to hairballs? Would have thought she wouldn't have many but she has been moulting like mad 😂

The cat that stays with us stopped this once he'd had all his teeth outConfused they were rotten.

Thanks for posting about the paste! I hadn't heard of it. Our 2yo is long-haired so I'm dreading the spring moult! Confused

Mine is short haired. Vomits a lot, sometimes I do think this is due to bolting food. Tends to be with meat not biscuits. So we only give half a pouch at a time now. Also swapped from whiskers to felix which my brother said helped his cat and didn’t cure ours but made it better.

But at times she will vomit not after eating. Seems to be two types of vomiting. One straight after eating is an almost instant regurgitation of food. The other vomiting which I suspect to be more hairball related is accomapanied by a minute or so of retching before vomiting.

My friend has started using Royal Canin hairball food. Abs the vomiting has stopped. His short haired cats have very thick coats and groom each other. My long haired Persians have never had a hairball issue. They have Royal Canin Persian food that helps their hair.
