How do you stop them scrabbling??

She's well fed, she's been taken out for a romp, she's now in the spare room (and hers is larger than mine).

It's only been 20 mins and all I can hear is frantic little paws scrabbling at the door.

How do you make it stop...?

Why are you shutting her in rooms? You are shutting her out of part of her territory of course she wants to get out. How would you feel if someone locked you in your bedroom? It’s really odd. What harm can she do wandering about the house???

We haven't moved long, I'll get some tomorrow.

Since I started this thread she's been peaceably sat outside the front door and hasn't scrabbled once, she must be reading this thread.

She'd have to scrabble to get back in though (I can't prop that door open).

Mine are shut downstairs overnight, we have a large lounge and kitchen with litter trays, toys and water so they are fine. Girl cat did used to scrabble at the door at about 4am but has got used to the routine now, we're up at 6am when they are fed and let outside.
However, during the day they have free run of the house. I think its fine overnight to confine them but during the day they should be able to go where they please. Would this work for you, so you get the nights for yourself?
