Adopting a deaf 2 year old cat (rescued from Bulgaria)

Basically I am wondering how much it is going to cost medical , insurance wise due to the fact it is deaf. Will they charge more?
It is a white cat and I understand it is quite common for them to become deaf (though in this case I think it may have been due to neglect etc)

White cats are often deaf as you say. I'm afraid i have no idea about insurance. I suppose they may feel that they will be at greater risk of being run over, which is true, and so may price accordingly. The only answer will be to ask some insurance companies.

Are you going to keep kitty indoors for its safety, my ndn cat is blind but always around outside, I don't know about insurance, have you rang any of them, pics when home please

The cat cannot leave the house alone. It is deaf and cannot hear any approaching animals cars etc so would need to be taken out on a lead. So this would not be an insurance risk in fact the opposite.It just depends I suppose on whether the deafness would incur any medical costs eg more likely to acquire an infection. As far as I know (not a vet) deafness in white cats is a genetic thing and I don't think that would make infections or other ear problems any more likely.
