Neighbour's cat.

Am in a bit of a tricky situation with neighbour's cat. I have one of my own but this little interloper runs in as soon as I open my door.

Every time I see her I put her out, sometimes she's so quick I don't notice (say I'm signing for a parcel or something). Then I find her in some corner of the house, the other night she was in all night and I hadn't noticed. I don't feed her anything as don't want to encourage her but am wondering how to address it with my neighbour who I'm not familiar with.

I'm not sure how they'd stop her but don't want them to think I'm poaching their cat either.

Is she being shut out by the neighbours? If so it's not surprising she wants some shelter. Do they have a cat flap?

Talk to them!! You can't possibly know what to do for the best unless you understand what the situation is.

I don't know if she's being shut out. I can't tell. She mostly turns up during the day! Though if they weren't treating her right I'm pretty sure they wouldn't admit to it.

But I'll mention it to them. They're probably wondering what she's up to.

She has a collar and looks well-fed. Don't know about cat flap - can't see back of the house.

What else can I do but pick her up and march her back home each time is what I'm wondering.

I used to do this and he'd be back at my front door before I was looking both hurt and outraged.

Does it disturb your cat?

Ha ha

I get those looks just putting her back out.

My cat isn't keen but I'd say he tolerates her intrusions bullet.

The first and only thing you need to do is to talk to your neighbours. Until you understand the situation you can't make decisions or plans and no one can advise.
