Puzzle feeder suggestions

Our young lad hoovers his food up and demands more so thought a puzzle feeder might be good for his dry food and keep him entertained.
At CP they have these ones www.viovet.co.uk/Company-of-Animals-Catch-Interactive-Slow-Cat-Feeder/c18020/?quick_find=146770&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrZi2pv6E2QIVxxbTCh1DdwCDEAQYBCABEgIDavD_BwE which seem ok but would welcome feedback on any your cats have tried with a smallish price tag preferably.

You know that whichever you buy will not be the one that suits.
Ours has trained us to be her puzzle feeder. Which my cat disliking (well, indifferent to) dh plays for her all the time.

More helpfully, it really depends on what your cat likes. Go for cheapness first. See how that flies. Take it from there. I bought several types of puzzle feeders and she uses none of them. Sorry.

Bugger that sounds about right!

I got Leroy a puzzle feeder like that one - I swear blind he rolled his eyes and muttered "for fuck's sake..."

It got binned. Sorry.

Get a cardboard box with a lid. Cut holes in the side, tape on lid and insert some food.
You can see if he shows any interest in working for his food before you waste your money!

Mine has a treat ball, this one:

here

Think mine was from Amazon. Cat half-heartedly rolls it around depending on his mood. More often than not he gets bored after a minute or two and pesters me relentlessly until I roll it about for him/ get bored of the whole charade and open it up. I also get the glare of disapproval!

You can set it to different sized openings but there are only two worthwhile ones - slightly too big and slightly too small, i.e. too easy or too difficult Hmm

Probably depends how determined/ greedy your cat is. Definitely worth a couple of pounds to see how much of a problem solver your cat is before investing in anything more expensive.

This isn't sounding hopeful.... I wonder if the CP cats are happy to use theirs due to being in a pen with less to do.
I'll attempt a home made one first I think. I'm not very good at making things so this could be amusing!

m.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_toys/miscellaneous/treat_toys/132801 this gets good reviews

Good luck! Sorry I didn't mean to be such a downer Grin

My cat definitely has a bit of an attitude and has me wrapped around his claw!

He did like his treat ball at first, especially with Dreamies in it. He's just lazy/ decided he was above such things Wink

We have an Activity Fun Board from zooplus, it was £12 I think. Cat finds it pretty challenging and took her a week to work out all the different puzzles but it keeps her occupied and slows down her food consumption as she goes back and gets a few bits at a time. I put half her dry food in a bowl for breakfast and the other half is out on the tray all day - she doesn't finish it til after I'm in bed.

I tried the box with a hole in it with a cat once. Cat forced its head into the hole, missed the food entirely, panicked and ran into a wall.
