I havent got a lot of money and my stray has taken the spare! Daph us overweight i dont want it to collapse. They are both due a check up on Monday and i will get a taxi there and bus back. Should i buy a bigger one for two of them or just a cheap single one?

I still shove both of mine in the one carrier!!

I think you’d struggle to carry two in one wouldn’t you? I only have to walk down the road with Colin in his embarrassingly gigantic carrier and I have to stop every metre or so as my arms are dropping off! My friend has one on wheels which seems amazing. She got it off amazon. It’s a bit like a wheeled shopping trolley and both her cats fit in it

We used the same one for our kittens and last time they went together to the vet it was a bit of a squeeze - but they whinged less than when I'd taken them separately and they both mewed loudly the entire way there. Together = silence. Ours is a soft case one, Amazon basics and comes with a shoulder strap. It's more like a sports bag.

We used to put ours in together as I thought it made them slightly calmer in the car. However last time the little cat peed on the big one on the way to the vet and then drooled all over him on the way home. He didn't seem to care that much, but it was a messy clean up! They were quite heavy together but I just held the carrier with my arms underneath it rather than by the handle and it was fine.

Mine used to in the early days but it soon became impossible to shove one back in and get the other out, and vice versa. I now have my old large one for boy cat and a smaller nee one for girl cat. Takes a bit of juggling though. The wheely one sounds good!

There's this one on Amazon described as:
Pet Bag Chihuahua Stroller Puppy Nest Ken Kennel Buggy House Car Train Carrier Dog Cat 592942 cm (Multicolour)
£29.99
There's a few wheeled ones actually. They look fab but quite pricey.

I find it impossible to get the second one in without the first one escaping, plus it is very heavy, I can manage a carrier in each hand more easily than both in one together. I agree that the wheeled one sounds good though.

Shadow666 · 25/01/2018 22:18

Depends on the cat, but mine aren’t terribly keen to go in the carrier so separate is easier but I have 3 so it’s hard to carry. So, I have one big one and one small one at the moment. I do like the look of the wheeled one, I suppose a general trolley with some bungee cords would work just as well. Must look into it.

Both my large cats still fit in a single carrier together when needed. It's fine, although helpful to have four hands taking them in and out. Have done it myself when necessary though.

Do u think they will feel strange been dragged along the floor though

Mine won't fit in one carrier m, and even if they did there's no way I could carry them both - I struggle to carry the Maine Coon on his own as it is!

I don't think it's an issue if they're both happy with it but I can't imagine lugging two cats in one box home from the vets on the bus! It's a bit different if you have a car and only have to carry them to the door.
