Our cat had the whiskas soups for a while she liked them but she now prefers the casserole range . They eat better than us these pets lol

Praisebe · 09/01/2018 00:21

At £2 for a tiny 4 pack they do Grin i saw the whiskas brand ones but she's not a fan of anything creamy she likes runny watery things and jelly the only creamy thing she'll touch is the odd drop of spilt milk

Yup. Kitty loves them and won't touch anything else at the moment apart from dried food at a push! There is a Sheba version too.

They are pricey, but as it doesn't smell as bad as the wet foods with reconstituted meat so I am going to keep on with them as there is less wastage so I guess cost balances out.

The Wiskas soups are foul - in a creamy sauce. Barf worthy. I hate to think what they would smell like in summer. Grin

DS and DDIL's DC Rosie is 14 and has been having these for about a year.
She loves them and is thriving.
They are expensive but she is an only cat and ,myself,DH, and DD all chip in.

It works out at 40g a pouch my cat eats about 200g a day of wet and some dry food for snacking so i think cat soup will just be a treat every other day to keep her happy Grin i agree the whiskas soups looked like vomit they would stink the house out in summer

Yes. My girls weren't keen.

DaisyDando · 09/01/2018 06:36

My cat lapped it up the first time and I thought I might’ve made a rod for my own back. However, he’s not been as keen since. So we are back on the boring old IAMs. Yay.

Taffeta · 09/01/2018 06:50

We’ve had a few of the freebie ones in bigger packs - Gourmet & Sheba I think - and cat loves them.

I’m afraid I won’t be buying them regularly though just as a treat as they’re so comparatively expensive.

Broken11Girl · 09/01/2018 06:59

Yeah the Whiskas ones made me retch Envy
Madam BrokenCat loves the Purina Gourmet ones. I give them occasionally as a treat rather than as a meal. She's not keen on the Sheba ones despite loving (most of) their wet food. Bloody fussy little furry dictators Grin

ImaginaryCat · 09/01/2018 07:08

Previous cat was seriously unimpressed, all the soups and casseroles ended up going out for the hedgehogs after madame turned her noise up.

But new kitten loves them. Not too costly at the moment because most of her diet is dry kitten food, and she gets one wet pouch a day.

So like all things, our furry overlords are basically finicky as fuck!

ToadOfSadness · 09/01/2018 14:00

I used to get the Gourmet ones but unless your cat likes the bits of vegetables and shredded chicken/tuna you might find they lick the liquid off and leave the rest.

I did buy Sheba ones as a trial but had the same result.

The Whiskas creamy soups were also licked clean of liquid but by this time it was a case of getting something into her, regardless of what, even though the dairy content wasn't a good idea.

If I had a healthy cat I wouldn't bother with any of them, good quality wet cat food would be my choice.

Praisebe · 09/01/2018 16:35

At the moment she only eats the food with jelly and sort of sucks the jelly off before eating the meat Envy

Broken11Girl · 09/01/2018 19:35

Madam occasionally leaves some of the little vegetable bits in the Gourmet one, but usually Hoovers it all up.
She will only eat flaky food in gravy Hmm and never buy in bulk, even if they love it Grin

SealSong · 09/01/2018 19:54

My friend makes her own - whenever she has a roast chicken carcass she makes a load of (salt free) stock with it, freezes it in little portions and spoiled puss gets this home made soup every day.

Praisebe · 09/01/2018 20:03

I could try doing that if she likes it DP will think ive lost the plot boiling up a chicken carcass for the cat though Grin

I just constantly worry about her not been hydrated enough the vet told me cats are notorious for not drinking enough water and she rarely drinks apart from licking the taps or drinking from the toilet Hmm she's a funny but disgusting little madam

We bought these for CantCat when he was unwell, he seemed to have mouth ulcers as he couldn't chew his food and kept dropping it even though he seemed to want it. He absolutely loved them and we still get them for treats occasionally.

Weedsnseeds1 · 09/01/2018 22:13

Yes. He didn't like them.
He has received many costly offerings that he doesn't like.
He likes Lik-e-liks, though. He views that as the treat to end all treats!

Praisebe · 09/01/2018 22:57

My cat goes mental for dreamies i think they actually contain cocaine because as soon as she sees that packet she turns into a rolling howling loon desperate for her fix Grin she also likes fish skin cubes and stick treats

Mine liked the soups at first but went off them just as quickly. Ill try again in the Summer. They have a drinking fountain which they use alot.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 10/01/2018 12:43

Mine won't eat cat soup or Dreamies. Unless it's Natures Menu chicken and goose or James Wellbeloved biscuits he's not interested!

Toddlerteaplease · 10/01/2018 19:20

Harry is a very peculiar cat. Op, have you tried putting down a glass of water to get her to drink more. Human crockery is far more appealing apparently.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 10/01/2018 21:21

The vet called him particular Toddler!

Have you tried a water fountain OP? Apparently a lot of cats prefer to drink from them. Needless to say mine was a waste of money but I’ve heard good things.

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/01/2018 21:27

Have you tried the stagnant green water they collects in old flower pots in the garden?
That's normally very acceptable!
