Cat developed a tremor in back leg just now?

Basically I had a cup of tea and she suddenly pounced and knocked it over me, I screeched in agony (I'm not fully dressed yet).

I just wanted some peace and quiet so put her in the sitting room but I noticed her back left leg was giving her gyp and quivering suddenly.

Do you reckon that's a nerve thing?

This only happened a few minutes ago, I need to recover from the hot tea bath myself.

I don't normally raise my voice to her.

Was she having a stretch. Ours have done that when they've just got up. They have a big stretch and one if the back legs quivers.

No this was different - she's insanely clingy at present and was climbing over the radiator behind me earlier then pounced but accidentally sent my tea over me.

I'm really quiet so she's not used to me screaming. I've put her in a separate room now, I need a few hours to recover

How is she today @BulletFox?

BulletFox · 08/01/2018 10:13

Oh she's fine thanks PinkSparkly, I think she came over all queer at me suddenly screaming at having a cup of tea thrown at me.

She just trembled a lot at being shut out in the sitting room and didn't walk straight. I was too traumatised to check on her for a couple of hours.

It's quite good I don't have children!

It might be a symptom of heart disease.

It might also be a sign of kidney disease. My girl started twitching in one leg when she had kidney disease.

I would have her checked by a vet.

BulletFox · 08/01/2018 16:09

Toad it's ok, she had a funny 5 minutes at me screeching like a banshee at having a cup of tea suddenly flung at me. She went all peculiar and couldn't walk straight for a few seconds.

It freaked both of us out but she's back to boinging off desks and bookcases now.

Thanks for your response though, hope your girl is ok :)

My girl used to suddenly shake her leg or jerk randomly. She had a heart condition and kidney disease, I wouldn't want you to go through what we did.

Sadly she was PTS a few weeks ago with renal lymphoma.

Do keep an eye on her, just in case, wish there was a 'caring' emoji on here because I can't say how I feel.

Oh I'm sorry - I'm slowly starting to learn about the cats on here, people can be dismissive when you lose a pet.

But if they've been your companion for years and they're your little furry friend then it is hard when they go.

PTS is kinder when something serious happens, I wish it could be done with people.

Yes, it is strange that the medics go out of their way to keep us alive, but the NHS can't cope with us all and would be better off letting some of us go if we want to.

Both of mine have gone in the last 2 years, I miss my little girl so much, she was like a limpet. They are precious little creatures, and deserve the best we can give them.

Thinking back my cat Troy sometimes went all wobbly. Sadly he was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and was in heart failure. He died 2 months before his 6th birthday. Please take your cat to the vets even if she seems ok now.
