How to stop cat being clingy?

We moved in December, I'm indulging her with food at present as I know it's difficult for her.

She doesn't like toys.

She is so clingy though it's unreal, I don't get a moment's peace. I've currently put her in the sitting room and I can hear scrabbling little paws (she's been well fed, I just want a few moments of quiet)

Well, in my case Ariadne you tell the RSPCA that you'll take the nervous, hissing wreck of a cat that nobody wants because he's too timid, as well as being black.
Keep him in a covered box or under the bed for a couple of months, decide he needs a brush and watch in amazement as the trembling beast transforms into a purring, snuggly dog after one session with the tangle teaser.
Very odd, he'd shown no inclination to emerge other than when we were safely in bed, prior to that!!
