Symptoms of senility?

I've had Remy for 10 years, he came from a rescue and wasn't a kitten when I got him. I'd estimate him to be around 12/13. In the past 10 years he's had fits on 3-4 occasions. They don't last long, he's seen the vet and no obvious cause. Most recently he had one last week. Since then he's become extremely aggressive towards one of my other cats, seems to have lost his appetite and general enthusiasm for anything. I'm planning to get him to the vet tomorrow but I'm wondering if it could be senility or something brain related? He's always been the most laid back cat, has never been one to fight, or scratch/bite, so to see him so aggressive is quite concerning. Any advice?

Looking more like hcm Sad if so it'll be the second one I lose to it. Not the way to start a new year

No advice, just commiserations. Sad
I didn't know hcm could present like that?

Best of luck for tomorrow. I can empathise there too, as I lost one of my boys in 2017 to hcm (also lost some human family too -it was a shit year!) - and my other old chap is booked in for a dental tomorrow.

Fingers crossed for us both.

When he had his most recent fit his back legs seemed to weaken. And today he's tried to jump up and failed miserably. I have a horrible feeling I'm going to have to make an awful decision tomorrow

Oh no. Have you got a vet you have trust in?

I've recently moved so have had to register with a new vet, no idea what they're like
