Should I get another kitten?

We have a 7month old British Shorthair and I am considering getting another kitten to keep her company (she is an indoor cat).

Would I need to get a separate litter tray, food and water bowls for them?

Would it be too unsettling for my current kitten?

Any advice/experiences would be appreciated - thanks!

The thing with cats is that they don't seek out the company of other cats and ate perfectly happy being solitary. Having said that, your cat might love having another cat in her home, but it's a gamble. They might get along famously, they might ignore each other or they might hate each other and fight. I have 2 cats that can't be in the same room as each other, as one of them attacks the other, so I have to keep them separate. I had 2 cats, now gone, who got along famously. They didn't cuddle up together, but they were really good friends.

If you do get another cat, they will need separate everything.

Good luck.

My cats have never liked having another around!
Portia seemed to hate Morph, but when he died she looked for him everywhere so I thought she must be missing him...
I got a pair of kittens...and guess what... she hates them!
Now they are 3 and the sister hates her brother... all three tolerate each other but will stillgive the odd hiss and slap.

Cats are solitary by nature and while some cosy up and are friends..a lot don't!
