It’s my Daphne and this is the second time in a couple of months. The third time in her 18month life. I just don’t want it to get out of hand. I’m on nights and this morning she couldn’t decide if she wanted to be with me or not so I shut my bedroom door. I was just having my tea when I noticed my vinyl bean bag had a nice puddle in it. I never smelt wee I never do when she does it. I got an old towel and cleaned it with vinegar and turned it upside down. She’s did it there before when she was a tiny baby did she remember??? Why do u think she did it? I should be glad it’s not carpet but whatbuf it is next time. They have two trays and both pee a lot as they drink slot and have wet food. How come it doesn’t have that cat per smell to it it is that only when it’s been left awhile? I don’t realky want to put a tray in my small living room.

Have you had her checked for UTI? Is she spayed? Does she go out?

dementedpixie · 30/12/2017 18:41

I would use an enzyme cleaner on the pee as vinegar will not break down the odour molecules and it will still remain

cecinestpasunepipe · 30/12/2017 18:51

Have you annoyed her at all? One of my cats, a female, pees and poos out of her tray on the bed or a particular rug when she is cross with me or stressed, for example if I pay particular visitors (not everyone) more attention than her, or just before I go on holiday (when she sees the suitcases) and after I return. She doesn't do it while I am actually away, so it is definitely directed at me.

Yes I’ve been back Afew days after Xmas. I’m feeding a couple of strays that she watches through the catflap they don’t seem to bother with her but this morning when I wanted her in so I could go to bed she proper hissed at me and when I picked her up to bring her in she was proper complaining. Then she was in and out of my bedroom so I had to close the door so
I could sleep. Can they really get pissed off like that?

Why are you feeding these cats? Have they been scanned for microchips? If strays they could be unneutered too.
Your cat likely doesn't take kindly to other cats on her turf. And if you've been away that's likely unsettled her too. Worth checking for UTI too.

EachandEveryone · 30/12/2017 21:33

Aw it’s in conjunction with TCN somits all good. It’s the parents of the kittens I found.

They really don’t seem to
Mind them on their turf as it’s a flat they don’t hang around and mainly mine are asleep when they are fed if they do see them they just stare and watch them eat they don’t even go in their bowls. I think it’s quite possibly because the sister was in bed with me and I’d locked her out of the room as I couldn’t cope with opening and shutting the door. It’s not physical.

I hadn't realised it was in conjunction with TCN. Sadly there seem to be lots of strays round there. Not a problem where we are. We have a few visitors but they all have homes and just like to say hi!
Worth trying feliway?

EachandEveryone · 30/12/2017 23:03

Yes it’s not something I’d noticed until earlier in the year and I’ve been there 10 plus years!!! It’s sad really but they seem happy enough,

How can I not feed? If it’s distressing her I’m going to have to rethink. She’s done it again in the same spot. I’ve ordered another tray which I am going to have to put in the living room. It’s not ideal. What shall I do with the bean bag shall I throw it out or if I move it will she pee somewhere else tonight when I’m at work?

They like bean bags, the balls inside feel a bit like litter. It's instinctive.

MrsBertBibby · 31/12/2017 09:59

If you put food in a place they have speed, it reduces the risk of them seeing there again.

Feliway all over too. Check for UTIs. But the likeliest culprit is stress.

My old lady used to piss everywhere, and stopped the minute we moved house away from the over-populated (by cats) area we were in. There was one cat sneaking in regularly to nick food.

EachandEveryone · 31/12/2017 10:10

They arent coming in. Im going to make more of an effort to make sure mine arent around when im feeding them. Interesting about the bean bags feeling like litter. Ive ordered tge feliway.
